Munich (dpa) - The Bavarian Industry Association vbw ranks the United States, Switzerland and Sweden as the top three countries for industrial firms in the world.
Germany and the Netherlands round out the top five countries where manufacturers and industrial enterprises can set up shop or invest.
The vbw uses more than 60 criteria to evaluate how nearly four dozen countries worldwide compare to the south-eastern German state of Bavaria on location quality for industrial pursuits. The 45 countries evaluated are considered top competitors for the German state.
When Bavaria is included in the list of evaluated industrial locations, the industry association gives it a second-place ranking, putting Germany as a whole in fifth place.
According to the vbw, Germany scores particularly well in the area of infrastructure, while Bavaria scores better with respect to internet availability, efficient logistics systems and higher life expectancy.
