TRANSATLANTIC PARTNERS. The atmosphere was good during the festive evening at the Berlin Representative Office of the Robert Bosch Foundation (photograph). After all, there was something to celebrate: alumni and current scholarship holders had gathered to mark the 30th anniversary of the Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program. Since 1984, the program has been enabling young, highly qualified Americans to complete working stays and take part in seminars in Germany. The idea is that the participants will eventually take up leading positions in politics, administration, industry or the media in the United States and become active ambassadors in transatlantic relations. The list of alumni is impressive and includes such people as Barack Obama’s White House Chief of Staff, Denis McDonough. The celebrations will continue in Washington from 13 to 15 June 2014: Robert Bosch Foundation Alumni Association is inviting guests to join in an anniversary weekend in the American capital.
