The British vote to leave the European Union will also affect Germany.
Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel appealed for unity among the remaining 27 EU members. She said every proposal that leads the EU out of the crisis would be welcome. However, Germany also has possible winners of a Brexit: Frankfurt am Main,
as a major financial centre, is hoping for thousands of new jobs. Experts anticipate that in the event of the United Kingdom leaving the EU a large part of its securities business will relocate from London to Frankfurt.
