They have come from Ecuador, Tunisia and Vietnam, and all have found their place in Germany. Let’s meet Victoria, Aymen and Dieu Hue.

Dieu Hue Tong, trainee baker from Vietnam  

Dieu Hue Tong wants to blend the art of German baking with Vietnamese aromas. Dieu Hue is in her first year of training to become a baker. She left her homeland to come to Rüdesheim am Rhein. “At first, the language, organisation and working hours were big challenges, but step by step I’ve overcome each one. My colleagues have been especially helpful by explaining everything to me patiently.”

Aymen Ben Taghline, electro-mechanical engineer from Tunisia 

Aymen Ben Taghline already had eight years’ workplace experience when he came to Westerwald to start his job as an electro-mechanical engineer in March 2024. It has proved a real asset at his new employer, Motorhomes und Wunschmobile. The firm builds and adapts custom mobile homes according to customer specifications. “In Germany, industry and the skilled crafts and trades are very advanced,” says Aymen. “I’m proud of myself for coming to work here.”

Victoria Santacruz, industrial mechanic from Ecuador 

Whenever Victoria Santacruz gets on a plane, there is a good chance she helped build it. The young woman from Ecuador works for Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH as an industrial mechanic. She makes components that will ultimately be used in aircraft landing gear. She also trained at the firm which is based in the Allgäu. “My advice to anyone thinking abouttraining in Germany is: be brave and motivated to try out new things.”
