Ahead of peace talks with Russia: Zelenskyy visits Merz in Berlin, Germany

Against the backdrop of the two-day Berlin Security Conference, Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Berlin and pledged further support in the fight against Russia’s war of aggression. Merz announced additional winter aid totalling 200 million euros. The funds are to be used primarily for humanitarian aid and to secure energy supplies. The Bundestag has yet to approve the package.
