Germany is the world’s number one trade fair country and Hannover Messe is the most important international show for industrial technology. Every year a leading industrial nation presents itself as the partner country of the Hannover Messe. From 25 to 29 April 2016 it is the turn of the USA as the world’s largest economy. The key elements of the partner country’s presentation will be energy efficiency and energy production, intelligent technologies and, of course, transatlantic partnerships.

Flanders and the Netherlands will be appearing as guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair from 19 to 23 October 2016 under the motto “This is what we share”. The joint guests of honour will be presenting over 250 new translations of novels, children’s books, youth books, non-fiction works, poetry volumes and graphic novels in Frankfurt, explained Bas Pauw of the Netherlands Foundation for Literature. “We are very, very amenable to and excited about this world that lies in front of our doorstep and about which we know relatively little. There’s an incredible amount to discover,” said Book Fair director Jürgen Boos.
