Europe’s gateway to the digital world is located in the German financial centre Frankfurt am Main. The city is the home of the German Commercial Internet Exchange (DE-CIX), which is currently the largest Internet traffic hub. Streams of data from all over the world come together here. Six hundred ISPs and network organisations from over 60 countries are connected to the Frankfurt hub, which was founded in 1995.
