Revolutionary idea for better water quality

Students at the University of Bremen have developed a device that measures drinking water quality.

25.03.2015

In Africa, drinking water is often in short supply. In some regions, germ infested water is poured into plastic bottles and placed in the sun. The ultraviolet rays kill the bacteria. But nobody was sure just when the water could be drunk. Five students at the University of Bremen wanted to change this state of affairs. They have developed a monito-ring device that can be pushed into the neck of the bottle and indicates just how clean the water is.
