German series “Liebes Kind” [Dear Child] wins an International Emmy
This six-episode streaming series received the coveted TV Movie award.
New York (dpa) – The “Liebes Kind” [Dear Child] thriller streaming series is a winner at the 52nd International Emmy Awards. This Netflix series produced by Constantin Film received the coveted prize in the “TV Movie / Mini-Series” category at the New York gala. The riveting six-episode series is a mixture of thriller and family drama involving a woman who escaped from harrowing captivity and whose fate is intertwined with a missing persons case that has remained unsolved for 13 years.
Writers and directors Isabel Kleefeld and Julian Pörksen, producers Tom Spiess and Friederich Oetker, and leading actresses Kim Riedle and Haley Louise Jones travelled to Manhattan to receive the award. “Best Monday ever”, said Oetker as he received the golden Emmy statuette. “Working with this team has been the greatest privilege and joy of my life.” The International Emmys are a global offshoot and kid sister of the main Emmy award ceremony. The award gala focuses on programming produced outside the United States. It has 14 categories in which 56 productions from 21 nations were nominated.
