Federal Government announces AI partnership with Nvidia
Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz is welcoming around 200 business leaders to Berlin. One of the main topics is a planned AI partnership with US chipmaker Nvidia.
Berlin (d.de) – The Federal Government is hoping to attract new investment to Germany with its “Invest in Germany Summit” on 19 and 20 October 2026. “This is not just about the many hundreds of billions of euros flowing into projects in Germany. It is also about the message investors are sending out to people in our country and around the world,” Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz said ahead of the summit.
Closer cooperation with Nvidia
At the start of the summit in Berlin, Merz will meet Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The two plan to announce a partnership to promote artificial intelligence (AI) in German industry. Around a dozen German companies are expected to take part in the project, including Siemens, Volkswagen subsidiary Audi and AI company Black Forest Labs. The aim is to advance AI applications in robotics, industrial manufacturing and autonomous driving.
Around 200 business leaders are expected to attend the investment summit. Participants who have announced they will attend include representatives of Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, Bayer, Lufthansa and Deutsche Telekom, as well as international companies such as Boeing and Anthropic. Financial firms BlackRock and Goldman Sachs will also be represented. The Federal Government hopes the conference will strengthen international investors’ confidence and stimulate new investment projects.
