Excellent
“Fields of Ideas”

The German Pavilion won an award at the 2015 Expo Milano.

15.01.2016

Gold for Germany: the German contribution to the 2015 Expo Milano has been honoured for being the best realisation of the exposition’s leitmotif. Germany used high-tech innovations to interpret the exhibition’s motto of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. On show, among other things, were solar trees that collect energy during the day and provide illumination at night and corrugated cardboard that functions as a tablet PC or an interactive guide.

Entitled Fields of Ideas, the futuristic structure made of steel and membranes was divided into six different zones with no less than 100 themed booths. The German presentation succeeded in an exceptional way in communicating the contents of this year’s Expo motto to visitors interactively, the jury found. The prize is the latest in a series of successes. In 2005 the German Pavilion at the EXPO Aichi/Japan received the Golden Award for best content, with further accolades garnered in Spain (2008), in China (2010) and in Korea (2012).
