Exhibitions, readings, discussions, interactive experiences, music, theatre and TED talks: on Thursday, 6 June 2019, Germany’s Federal Foreign Office will be staging the “Long Night of Ideas” to highlight how important the social power of culture and education is in view of the societal and political upheavals around the world. Under the banner “Idea and Ideal – Europe”, it will be joining forces with cultural mediators and a whole host of partners to showcase cultural relations and educational activities at prominent sites in Berlin’s cultural landscape – from the Barenboim-Said Academy and the Globus Floor at Tresor Club to the Red Salon at the Volksbühne Berlin theatre and the rooftop studio of the Federal Foreign Office.

How can culture and education contribute to increasing cohesion in and between European societies? What needs to be done to strengthen and protect pre-political spaces for art and culture, science and opinion? These and many other questions will be the focus at a total of 17 Events, which are free of charge and can be visited – unless specified otherwise – without the need for prior registration. Their formats and durations are designed to allow visits to several venues in one evening. More information about the programme and about Registration at: https://menschenbewegen.jetzt/lndi2019/
