In addition to Bonn, the United Nations is represented in Germany with 11 facilities and offices in Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Munich and Nuremberg. The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ISGH) in Hamburg is of particular importance. It is an international court and an independent organization in the UN system which, on the basis of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) of 10 December 1982, pronounces on matters of law and decides disputes.
