Innovation in transportation: world’s largest rail trade fair gets underway

Digital technologies and sustainability are in the spotlight at the InnoTrans world trade fair for transport technology.

Berlin (d.de) – InnoTrans, the world’s largest trade for transport technology, is opening its doors at the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds from 24 to 27 September 2024. Industry leaders and researchers are presenting the latest developments in rail technology. The German Aerospace Center is presenting its futuristic “NGT Taxi” concept. The lightweight modular high-tech bus that runs on rails, designed to run autonomously and improve connections with rural areas. With 3,000 exhibitors from 39 countries, the 14th InnoTrans is setting new records for exhibitors. Germany’s Transport Minister Volker Wissing and the EU Director General for Transport Magda Kopczyńska will open the global transportation trade fair. Wissing said, “I’m delighted that for the first time this year, InnoTrans is dedicating part of the exhibition area to artificial intelligence. There’s huge potential in this area, particularly in a period of a shortage of skilled workers and growing transportation needs.”
