Practising international networking: we present individuals who symbolise Germany’s partnerships around the world. Global challenges can only be overcome by working together. 

Science

In numerous collaborative research and higher education projects, scientists from Germany and its partner countries jointly work on responses to global challenges. 

Humanitarian assistance

Together with the countries concerned, Germany supports people who are in desperate need as a result of crises or natural disasters.

Cooperation with the UN

As a reliable partner in peacekeeping missions, among other things, Germany works together with the other member states of the United Nations.

Health

Health risks cannot be confined by national borders. That’s why Germany plays a linking role internationally and together with the WHO.

Food security

One of the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the 2030 Agenda, which Germany has also signed up to, is to end hunger in the world.

Climate action

Climate change affects all of us - and therefore demands joint responses. Germany contributes to climate action in numerous international partnerships and initiatives.

A better life for everyone: that’s the goal of German development cooperation, working with partner countries on a bilateral and multilateral basis.

Renewable energies

Germany promotes the expansion of renewable energies and energy efficiency worldwide. It also works with international partners on its own path towards climate neutrality.

Business

Germany relies on and fosters free trade between nations and is committed to open and equitable trade relations. 

Cultural exchange

Within the framework of its cultural relations and education policy, Germany fosters a partnership-based cultural dialogue, for example through a programme for preserving cultural heritage.
