Project name: De rehoboths therapeutic: holistic healthcare solutions for low income families

Project location: Nigeria

Project description:

It is a holistic healthcare solution for low income families, we help people lower their health care costs by reducing their need for health care. This is accomplished through our revolutionary programs that are accessible, affordable and sustainable! We provide: 365 days of LIVE support so you don’t fall off track, easy access to anyone, affordable to nearly everyone — costs less than $1 a day, offers total sustainable health — includes activities for your body as well as your mind and spirit. For too long, our health care has been teetering on just two legs of a 3-legged stool- 1) doctors that offer medical procedures and surgery, and 2) the pharmaceutical industry. What’s missing is the third leg - Self Care. That’s when we don’t wait until things fall apart and then rely on doctors and pharmaceuticals to pick up the expensive pieces. Self Care is the least expensive and the most powerful way to stay healthy. We bring preventative and restorative lifelong health solutions to our whole consumer. We believe in providing essentials for a healthy body, both on the inside and the outside, using natural methods that are chemical-free and allow the consumer to take responsibility for their health. So far we have had more than 6,200 beneficiaries of our services through our mobile health outreaches and the in house medical consultation, currently we have our impact in four provinces and in seven locations and this number will continue to grow as we become more established and it is expected to reach more 10,000 persons within the next 2 years.

DE REHOBOTH has carefully tracked the families within the program, the result of this review program shows significant result. Family income increased by an average of 42% while the numbers of days of hospitalization reduced by more than 66% considering that the average cost of hospitalization is $100/day. DE REHOBOTH’s intervention brought vast savings for families. In addition before our intervention in Mgbuoba community were we currently operate from only 28% were considered to be in good health, 48% in satisfactory health and 24% in life threatening conditions and after families were assisted by the organization the number drastically shifted to 52% in good health,41% in satisfactory and only 8% in life threatening condition

Motivation of the applicant / applicant team:

Years back as a child raised in poor home I often return to the hospital as I was always unable to fully recover in my home environment and as I grew up seeing others pass through same challenge of treatment and relapse ,I saw the need to provide an alternative holistic healthcare solution that would contribute to individual total wellness and this led to the creation of de Rehoboth therapeutic in October, 2014.The leadership of DE REHOBOTH THERAPEUTIC STUDIO are inspired by the unique and essential role they play in addressing the world's major health challenges. We serve patients best by bridging the gap between conventional and traditional medicine, because the inherent healing capacity of the body is an amazing force which can be stimulated through natural treatments.

Our team combines an understanding of the needs and motivations of business with a practical, can-do approach to how those needs and interests can be channelled to drive health outcomes, in the workplace, in host communities and in the world at large.
