With just one ticket, you can travel all over Germany and reach some of the country’s most beautiful places on numerous train routes. The Deutschlandticket has been available since May 2023 for local and regional public transport (ÖPNV). Just hop on and relax – whether you’re in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich.

How does the Deutschlandticket work?

The ticket is digital and available through local public transport associations. It is offered as a monthly subscription for 58 euros and can be cancelled any time at a month’s notice. So it’s worth it even if you’re only travelling through Germany for a short time – just don’t forget to cancel! The Deutschlandticket enables you to use local and regional public transport across Germany. Long-distance services such as the IC and ICE are not included.

What are the benefits of the Deutschlandticket?

The Deutschlandticket is very popular – it is already used by more than 14 million people. The Federal Government agreed in its coalition agreement to continue the Deutschlandticket beyond 2025.

A report funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research underlines the ticket’s success: 12 to 16 per cent of journeys made with the Deutschlandticket were previously made by car. So it has also helped ease the burden on the climate: it is estimated that between 4.2 and 6.5 million tonnes of CO₂ have been saved since the Deutschlandticket was introduced.
