Walter Lindner is Special Representative of the Federal Government for the Fight against Ebola.

On his return from Liberia and Guinea, Walter Lindner said he was deeply impressed by the “dedication and self-sacrifice” of national and international aid workers. He had travelled to Africa in October 2014 to find out about the Ebola virus after he was appointed Federal Government Special Representative for the Fight against Ebola. He is in charge of cooperation between the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Government in the fight against this deadly disease and responsible for ensuring optimal coordination of technical, logistical and medical aid. Until recently, Lindner was Germany’s Ambassador to Venezuela. He has also been a crisis manager, Special Representative for Africa and Federal Foreign Office spokesman.
