Wittig is Germany’s new ambassador to the USA
The Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations takes over from Ambassador Ammon.
FROM NEW YORK TO WASHINGTON. Peter Wittig (photograph) is the successor of Peter Ammon as Germany’s Ambassador to the United States. Ambassador Ammon is now moving to London, while Wittig is leaving his post as Germany’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York City, where he was appointed in December 2009. During his time there he also represented Germany as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
