Roadmap for peace
The special programme “Bundesfreiwilligendienst mit Flüchtlingsbezug” (Federal Volunteer Service for Refugees) will supplement the existing Federal Volunteer Service with an additional 10,000 places.
“Very serious” discussions ensued as Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier chaired the meeting of foreign ministers convened in Vienna to tackle the subject of Syria in November 2015. Participants succeeded in agreeing on a roadmap for the peace process in Syria. Plans were also discussed to lay the foundations for a nationwide ceasefire.
