Project description:

FreeCom is a new technology letting people communicate even when no internet connection is available. FreeCom was primarily developed for regions suffering war, or simply for places without internet access. Given that 55% of the world population lacks the telecommunication to communicate without Internet or mobile signal, FreeCom offers a potent answer to common methods of oppression in the digital era, using every possible technology the smart device offers to send text messages, make calls, and broadcast news, even where no internet is available. With FreeCom, users can also get updates or notifications. FreeCom’s most innovative feature lets users create their own network by connecting to each other: each person acts as a postman giving messages to either the next person until everyone is reached or to just a single targeted person, by mixing people’s physical movements with technologies to achieve connectivity. FreeCom is an astonishingly creative and promising new tool.

Goal and purpose of the project:

• Create a new Infrastructure support the current Internet Network but can always work even if the Internet or the mobile network are down.
• Give people the tool to have a free uncontrolled or watched communication method, they can text or call freely without having fears of someone breaking their privacy.
• Give the people who lives in dangerous arias the easiest possible way to communicate and stay up to date for alarm messages or breaking news.
• people living in developed areas where internet is not stable or available all the time they will keep being connected.
• people will share resources together what will make the community closer and helping each other, the whole idea of this project depend on sharing resources and information to make people connected.

Motivation of the applicant / applicant team:

I'm always motivated to join such an events where I can meet many creative people and make a new network and meet people to discuss and corporate to proceed further with my project, talking about my project in this event and having the chance to win some money to start my first step development is a great chance to have.

Abdul Rahman AlAshraf is the Founder of FreeCom, He's a Syrian Innovator strongly believe that technology can be powerful tool to achieve Peace and Freedom. He studied Software Engineering in Damascus and got his Master degree in Software Technology from Stuttgart Technology University of Applied Sciences, He live currently in Stuttgart, Germany and work there for MHP - A Porsche Company as Consultant.
He was named as the EYA Young Digital Champion in 2016 after his project FreeCom has won the overall European Youth Award which is an innovative new tool provide alternative solution for people to communicate when no internet connection or mobile network is available. He works also in many projects support integration and Civilizations Dialogue.
