Germany win men’s hockey European Championship
With nine titles, Germany’s men’s team remain the record winners of the tournament.

Mönchengladbach (dpa) – Germany’s men’s hockey team have claimed their first European Championship title in twelve years, extending their record to nine titles in the competition. In a thrilling final in Mönchengladbach, coach André Henning’s side defeated Olympic champions the Netherlands 4–1 in a penalty shootout after the match ended 1–1 in regular time. This makes them both reigning world champions and European champions. The team had already secured their place at the 2026 World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands before the final.
