ACHIEVING GROWTH WITH LESS ENERGY. This is the goal of the German Energy Agency (dena). Since it was founded in the year 2000 it has become a competence centre for energy efficiency, renewable energies and intelligent energy systems. The agency works at the interface between policy and business and realizes projects at home and abroad. It is active in the energy-consumption sectors of buildings, electricity and transport as well as on questions of energy production, grids and storage. Dena initiates exemplary projects, advises politicians and service providers, educates consumers, builds networks, analyzes foreign markets and develops future scenarios. The dena Solar Roofs Programme helps German companies enter new markets. Its partners here are often German schools abroad, where innovative solar equipment is installed on roofs as an effective means of advertising. The latest project is a Franco-German energy transition platform that should be realized by the end of 2014.
