Experiencing the Energy Transformation: under the motto 'Energy on Track', Germany will be promoting the project of the century to an international audience at the Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan. At the entrance to the German Pavilion, visitors will receive a smart stick in their own language with which they can activate exhibits in the multimedia exhibition, access background information and glean knowledge. As a reward they will get smart points which can be used for a surprise at the end.

High point: 'Energy Show'

In the first exhibition room, a huge map shows a world in transition. Here, visitors get a bird's eye view of the new energy world, which they can then explore. The next step is the 'City of the Future': interactive productions and topical examples from Germany illustrate the effect on people's everyday lives of the conversion to renewable energies – from smart homes to mobility. The 'Energy Show' is the emotional climax of the exhibition visit. In a twelve-sided room, the visitors place their smart sticks onto a large, round table and, with their collected smart points, activate a laser show with spectacular images.

German cuisine and culture

’Energy of the Future’ is the motto of Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana. More than 100 nations are taking part in what is the first world exhibition in Central Asia. The organizers are expecting about five million visitors. The German pavilion has a total surface area of 1,700 square metres and is visible from a considerable distance, thanks to its striking façade. In addition to the 'experience rooms' on the Energy Transformation, it offers a German restaurant with regional specialities and an extensive cultural programme. One special event is the German National Day on 12 July. The German Energy Dialogue – a German-Kazakh dialogue on the sustainable energy economy – is also on the programme on this day.
