American artist and activist Jimmie Durham is to receive the Goslarer Kaiserring – regarded as the most prestigious award for contemporary art in Germany. A glance at the list of its recipients to date confirms this: the sonorous names include Richard Serra, Gerhard Richter and Ólafur Elíasson.
