Schlingensief’s opera village
Christoph Schlingensief has been awarded the Konrad Wolf Prize posthumously for his opera village in Burkina Faso.
It was his last big project: Christoph Schlingensief, the deceased German theatre director, had an opera village built in Burkina Faso, including a school, a clinic and a monthly cultural programme. Schlingensief has been awarded the 2015 Konrad Wolf Prize posthumously for his commitment. The prize is worth 5,000 euros and is presented by the Academy of the Arts in Berlin.
