10:00 am: Start in the Hackesche Höfe
Start your day in the Hackesche Höfe complex in Mitte. A labyrinth of interconnected courtyards, each with its own atmosphere full of design, culture and creativity, is revealed behind an unassuming facade. Here you can discover small boutiques, galleries, cafés and a cinema.

11:00 am: Weinmeisterstraße and Rosenthaler Platz
A few minutes walk away you’ll reach the pulsating heart of Berlin Mitte. You’ll pass by concept stores and trendy galleries to get to the popular fashion stores in Rosenthaler Platz.

12:00 pm: Stroll along Weinbergsweg
The meadows and rose garden of Weinbergspark are where Berliners relax in the summer months. Why not take a lunch break here? Weinbergsweg is lined with restaurants that have terraces and a view into the greenery.

2:00 pm: Prenzlauer Berg
Take Kastanienallee to get to Prenzlauer Berg. On charming Oderberger Straße you’ll find boutiques, bookshops, the Stadtbad Oderberger public baths – today a hotel with historical swimming pool – and number of cafés and kiosks, the so-called “Spätis”. Grab yourself a cold drink and take it to the Mauerpark!

3:00 pm: Discoveries in the Mauerpark
It’s just a few steps away. Here you’ll see street musicians and spontaneous breakdance sessions. This park is known for its 300 metre-long, well preserved section of the Berlin Wall, which is used as a sanctioned surface for graffiti bystreet- artists from around the world.

Next it’s worth making a slight detour to the Berlin Wall Memorial in Bernauer Straße. There you can see some remnants of the Wall, the former border strip and an exhibition on division of the city.

5:00 pm: Markthalle Neun
Then take the U-Bahn to Kreuzberg to visit Markthalle Neun in Eisenbahnstraße. The route takes you past some snack bars. You could try the vegetable döner kebabs or Mexican tacos. Or don’t spoil you appetite and wait for the delicacies in the market hall. This listed indoor market is a hotspot for foodies.

6:00 pm: Underworld tours
Keen to find a very different side to Berlin? There are tours through former air-raid shelters, tunnel systems and other of Berlin’s subterranean sites.

8:00 pm: Drinks on Oranienstraße
Your final route is through Kreuzberg into Oranienstraße – a Berlin institution. Here you’ll experience the city’s colourful diversity among snack bars, pubs and music clubs. Spend a relaxed evening or dive into Berlin’s nightlife, for instance in SO36 or one of the many dance clubs around Kottbusser Tor.
