The Goethe Institut in Singapore has moved. After shifting from one office complex to another, it took up residence at 136 Neil Road in March 2014. The street runs through Chinatown with many traces of earlier times. The historical building has been carefully renovated to conserve its style and is equipped with the latest technology. The main entrance on Neil Road leads to the institute’s language,
administration and cultural sections. The building is also home to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). A café on the ground floor, with a separate entrance on Bukit Pasoh Street, is open
beyond the Goethe Institut’s normal hours. It offers a pleasant atmosphere
for lively exchanges at this new “German corner” in Singapore.
