This year, Messe Frankfurt’s exhibition grounds are once again the venue for the world’s largest music fair. International exhibitors are presenting over 30,000 instruments and accessories for all types of music under the motto “It’s my tune”. However, the concept for 2016 has been updated: the fair is open to both trade and private visitors on all four days. Also new are the thematic worlds ranging from rock and pop to classical and jazz to electro, where private visitors can find out about their favourite instruments, visit concerts and also meet the stars.

Concerts all over town

The subjects of broadcasting, production and recording are becoming popular with increasing numbers of amateur producers. After all, production conditions are improving and the equipment is becoming more affordable and easier to operate. The likes of Youtube and Facebook mean laypeople now have access to platforms for publishing their own music videos. At the fair this trend is reflected in high-quality computers, consoles, microphones and cameras. In addition, the fair is going out into the city: 50 events at over 30 venues mean that the whole of Frankfurt is becoming a stage. Featured artists include well-known names like Al Jarreau, Jupiter Jones,  Eisbrecher, Laith Al-Deen and The Dead Daisies.
