New forum for political interchange
Parliamentarians from Germany and Israel exchange views.
Members of the Knesset and the Bundestag met in Berlin at the end of May for the first Israeli-German Inter-Parliamentary Forum. This annual forum came into being in 2015 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel and is held alternately in one of the two countries. The first forum focused on the current wave of immigration and different approaches to integrating refugees into society. “There is no doubt that both sides can enrich one another with knowledge and approaches in this field,” said Nachman Shai, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset.
