Advisors for Ban Ki-moon
The United Nations Secretary-General is counting on a newly created panel of experts.
START IN BERLIN. During his recent visit to Germany, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon opened the inaugural meeting of the newly created United Nations Scientific Advisory Board in Berlin together with Germany’s Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. In future, the 26 international scientists, who include Jörg Hacker, President of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, will be working for the United Nations on the topics of climate change, energy and biodiversity.
