The Federal Government has adopted new guidelines for its policy on Africa. They reveal “Africa’s growing importance for Germany”, says Gerd Müller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development. “Despite all its crises and challenges, Africa is primarily a continent of opportunities.” The region’s economic output has tripled since the turn of the millennium. Germany’s core objectives are to promote sustainable employment and trust-based cooperation in the field of raw materials. Furthermore, the Federal Government intends to continue working for peace and security.
