For Lilou, it’s clear that everybody has a color, although not everyone sees it that way.

Everybody has a colour. Little Lilou is convinced of this; after all, her best friend is green. However, not all her classmates see it that way.

A view to the Legacy study: The topics of integration and understanding between all parts of society are becoming increasingly significant in Germany. As a country with high immigration levels, Germany is already diverse and “colourful”. The fact that this is neither sufficiently reflected in the media landscape nor clear in people’s heads is an expression and cause of distancing and borders. Whether brown, dusky pink or indeed green, belonging to Germany, or “being German”, is not defined by a phenotype, by appearance. Lilou is Germany’s hope. Her image is far more diverse and freer than that harboured by many of us.

You can decide who will receive the audience award in the film contest about the Legacy Study. Voting is possible from November 15 to November 22 (12 pm CET) – simply give a “Like” to your favourite short film. Meanwhile, a jury will select three works as well.
