52 Millionen Euro für Wiederaufbau in Ukraine

Odessa (dpa) - During a visit to Odessa, Germany’s Development Minister Svenja Schulze has promised Ukraine an additional 52 million euros for reconstruction in view of the ongoing Russian attacks on its infrastructure. “In the midst of war, we are in the process of rebuilding Ukraine into a free, independent Ukraine,” the minister said during her second visit since the Russian invasion a year ago.

In the Republic of Moldova, which borders Ukraine, Schulze plans on Friday to visit a town that lies on the main route taken by war refugees. Germany has so far supported the work here with laboratory equipment, cars and building materials for a hospital, as well as with psychosocial training. Also on Friday, Ukraine’s leading supporters will discuss further military aid at the US base in Ramstein, Germany.
