Open for partnership
The Deutsches Haus is being built in Ho Chi Minh City as a symbol of German-Vietnamese cooperation.
The Deutsches Haus is rising into the sky above Ho Chi Minh City. Designed by the Hamburg-based architects’ office of Gerkan, Marg and Partners, the building complex is a “flagship project” of the strategic partnership between Germany and Vietnam. When it is completed, the German Consulate General and a number of German institutions and companies will move into the 25-storey building. A restaurant with an outdoor terrace and swimming pool are planned on the 19th floor. The Deutsches Haus is located in the middle of District 1 on one of the city’s main thoroughfares between the two arterial roads Le Duan and Le Van Huu. The architectural concept aspires to create a formal expression of Germany and reflect its role as an industrial and technological nation. Transparency and structure, cost-effective design and energy efficiency are key principles of a forward-looking architecture “Made in Germany”. In 2015 the project was honoured with the Vietnam Property Award as the “best ecological construction project”. The topping-out ceremony is planned for 2016 and the opening for 2017.
