The fintech sector is thriving in Germany.
They develop smartphone apps to facilitate banking and insurance transactions, offer comparison websites for instant access savings and experiment with bitcoin. The fintech sector is growing thanks in part to its wide-ranging and innovative field of business. There are 250 such companies dotted across Germany, and their numbers are rising sharply. They are particularly concentrated in Frankfurt am Main, the financial centre where around 60 fintech companies have based themselves and Deutsche Börse, the German stock exchange group, has opened a fintech hub to promote the start-up and investment culture in Germany.
