Hovering back to the future on a skateboard
Researchers in Dresden have developed a hoverboard that lets you fly above the ground.
Marty McFly shows how it’s done in Back to the Future. In the cult film he flies weightlessly through the air on a hoverboard. Researchers at Dresden-based firm Evico have put this idea into practice with colleagues from the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research. Their hovering skateboard works on the basis of maglev technology.
