Europe’s cultural wealth can hardly be counted in Euro coins alone. The Euro itself has long since become a symbol of this great diversity, and consequently is more than just a means of payment in (currently) 19 EU states. In its special events series entitled “The Sound of Europe” the Federal Ministry of Finance highlights this diversity, offering a mix of political and cultural dialogue and musical excellence. Each event focuses on an EU member state – on Monday, 4 April 2016, the Netherlands. Some of Netherland’s musical greats will perform, including musician Herman van Veen, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and singer Sharon Kovacs.
