Singapore and Vietnam
Germany is celebrating the anniversaries of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the two Asian countries.
In 2015, Germany is celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations with Singapore and 40 years of diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Germany established diplomatic relations with Singapore directly after the city state attained independence in 1965. Today, Singapore is Germany’s biggest trading partner in Southeast Asia. Numerous events are being staged to mark the anniversary in both Singapore and Vietnam. Germany’s flagship projects in Vietnam are the German House and the German-Vietnamese University in Ho Chi Minh City.
