Studio on the roof of the Federal Foreign Office
The 2016 award winners of the FFO Artist is Residence Programme are the photographer Andréas Lang, Egyptian video artist Ahmed Kamel and concept artist Kerstin Honeit.

Art and culture have always transcended national frontiers. They are also becoming increasingly important as intermediaries in our globalised world. It was against this background that the Federal Foreign Office (AA) set up the FFO AArtist in Residence Programme with the Gallery Association of Berlin. It offers artists the chance to work for three months in a studio on the roof of the ministry in the Berlin-Mitte district. The first of three award winners in 2016 is the photographer Andréas Lang. Among other things, he focuses on the legacy of colonialism. Lang will be followed by the Egyptian video artist Ahmed Kamel and Kerstin Honeit, who also uses modern media.
