A great moment of German television
Television journalist Dunja Hayali was awarded a Golden Camera for her dedicated reporting about the refugee crisis.
It was TV close up and personal. Dunja Hayali was investigating a demonstration against refugees and tried to strike up personal discussions with the participants. The TV journalist has been honoured with the 2016 Golden Camera for her dedicated reporting. In her acceptance speech the daughter of Iraqi immigrants said: “In a country in which freedom of opinion is such a precious good, everyone should be allowed and must be able to express their fears and concerns without being pidgeonholed as right-wing. But if they express themselves in a racist way, then damn it they are racists.”
