Art lab made of glass
in the heart of Wroclaw

The Goethe-Institut‘s pop-up pavilion in Wroclaw offers a platform for international artists and is part of the 2016 European Capital of Culture programme.

Nowy Targ square in the Polish city of Wroclaw brings together the past and the present. There was a bunker under the square during the Second World War, and later socialist tower blocks were built along its edges. As such it is an appropriate place to engage artistically with Europe, and it is here that the Goethe-Institut has erected its “pop-up pavilion” – its contribution to the 2016 European Capital of Culture programme. During the course of three months, exhibitions, concerts and performances by more than 50 international artists will be presented. At the same time, this is the Goethe-Institut’s way of celebrating 25 years of German-Polish friendship.
