Group match Germany - Portugal 4:0: A fantastic start to Germany’s World Cup campaign against the Portuguese captained by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. With three goals to his name, Thomas Müller is the match winner.
Group match Germany – Ghana 2:2: Manager Joachim Löw’s team had a tough match against Ghana. Goal-getter Miroslav Klose was able to salvage a point with his goal – and celebrated with a somersault.
Group match Germany – USA 1:0: In the battle between the trainer friends the German manager Joachim Löw has a narrow victory over his predecessor and current US head coach Jürgen Klinsmann. Germany goes through, as do the USA.
Last 16 round Germany – Algeria 2:1 in extra time: Germany only manages to beat Algeria in extra time. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer keeps Germany in the match with daring saves outside the penalty box.
Quarterfinal Germany – France 1:0: Defender Mats Hummels heads the winning goal to decide the match between two almost equal teams.
Semi-final Germany – Brazil 7:1: A sensational start for Germany. After just 30 minutes they are leading 5:0, the final score 7:1. A match that will go down in history.
Final Germany – Argentina: The match for the title against the team captained by superstar Lionel Messi kicks off on Sunday at 9 p.m. German time. The teams have already met twice in a World Cup final. In 1986 in Mexico Argentina with Maradona won 3:2, in 1990 in Italy a penalty scored by Andreas Brehme gave Germany a 1:0 victory.
