Aid for the Philippines
The Federal Government and aid organisations provided aid immediately after the typhoon.
Germany pledged aid to the Philippines immediately after the devastating typhoon in November 2013. The Federal Government allocated 6.5 million euros to the victims. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development increased the amount to 22.5 million euros. The money is to be invested in the reconstruction of schools, hospital wards, and disaster reduction. Numerous German aid organisations were (and still are) in action in the Philippines.
