Berlin (dpa) – Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz will travel to New Delhi on Thursday to attend the 7th German-Indian government consultations. He will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a conversation. After this meeting the two heads of government will chair a joint plenary session with all participants of the government consultations. Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs Robert Habeck and Labour Minister Hubertus Heil are flying to India on Wednesday.

Habeck will be opening the Asia-Pacific Conference in India's capital city New Delhi, which is organised by German business representatives and the Ministry for Economic Affairs. The region is the most important trade partner outside Europe for German companies, according to the ministry. The European Union and India are currently negotiating a free trade agreement. Habeck will be accompanied by a business delegation. Labour Minister Heil plans to have conversations about skilled workers in particular.
