VIP at Hannover Messe: at the end of April 2016, Barack Obama will be the first sitting US president to visit the world’s largest industrial fair. The USA is the partner country at the 2016 fair, which will be presenting technologies for digitising factories and energy systems in line with its key focus on “Integrated Industry – Discover Solutions”. According to the White House, the US president’s visit underscores the enduring political and economic ties between Americans and Germans. In addition, during his stay in Germany Obama plans to promote the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and showcase American invention and ingenuity. This will be Barack Obama’s fifth visit to Germany during his presidency.
