Schoolchildren’s competition by the German Center for Fairytale Culture 

The international schoolchildren’s competition held by Fairytale Land – German Center for Fairytale Culture, invites German-speaking pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th grades around the world to write fantastic, fairytale-like ballades.  Under the motto “To fear or not to fear, that is the question”, boys and girls can send in their texts and pictures. The closing date for entries is 15 June 2014.

Fairytale Worlds exhibition

The Goethe-Institut’s Fairytale Worlds exhibition traces the major motifs in German fairytales and offers many elements to hear, to see and to join in: it’s about magic and wizardry, animals and heroes in fairytales. The exhibition is on show in Brazil until June 2014. It is also touring Uzbekistan in May 2014, followed by Belarus, the Ukraine, Georgia and the Russian Federation in the second half of 2014.

German-French Fairytale Festival

In May 2014 the first German-French Fairytale Festival will be taking place in Baden-Württemberg and Alsace. On both sides of the Rhine, fairytales will be told, accompanied by music, dancing and games – in kindergartens and schools, in museums and libraries, in town halls and in enterprises.
