Texts for the future

Groundbreaking texts by German-speaking philosophers and researchers are now being published in Hebrew.

05.10.2016

They are publications of important German-speaking philosophers and researchers: Adorno’s “Eingriffe”, Hans Mayer’s “Aussenseiter” and an essay about Bertolt Brecht by Hannah Arendt (photograph). None of these texts
has previously appeared in Hebrew. Texts for the Future, a joint project of the Goethe-Institut and the Resling publishing house, aims to change that. Influential thinkers from the German-speaking countries will be made accessible to new discourse through translation into Hebrew. The essays deal with subjects in philosophy, psychology, history and sociology. They will be chosen by Israeli intellectuals: among them, Moshe Zimmermann and Fania Oz-Salzberger. The first part of the series included Hannah Arendt’s essay about Brecht. It was selected by Yitzhak Laor who also wrote an introduction. A total of 15 to
20 volumes are planned.
