Arye Sharuz Shalicar was a hip-hop musician in Berlin who now serves in the Israeli army – and is extremely communicative.
Arye Sharuz Shalicar was born in Göttingen, grew up in Berlin, was a hip-hop musician, studied political science and sociology – and is today a major and press spokesperson in the Israeli army. Because the German-Iranian never does things by halves, he offers question and answer sessions for Germans on his Facebook page: questions about the work of the army, the security situation, everyday life in Israel – Ask Arye is the name Shalicar uses. He set up his platform for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany. Shalicar has worked for the Israeli army for seven years. His dream: “That Israel can live in peace one day so that I can hang up my uniform with pleasure.”
