Germany is becoming more and more diverse
According to the most recent Migration Report of the Federal Government, one fifth of Germany’s inhabitants have an immigrant background.

Germany is unquestionably an immigration country – in fact, a very popular one. The most recent Migration Report of the Federal Government makes this very clear. It says that immigration increased by 13% in 2013 compared to the previous year. The number of immigrants exceeded the number of emigrants by 429,000. Immigration to Germany is primarily European: roughly 56% of the people who settle here are from European Union countries. The largest group of immigrants comes from Poland – a trend that began in 1996. In the meantime, one fifth of Germany’s inhabitants have an immigrant background, and among children under ten years of age the proportion rises to roughly one third.
